Dipotassium phosphite is a white crystalline substance with strong deliquescence. It is highly soluble in water but insoluble in ethanol. The pH value of a 10% aqueous solution is approximately 4.5. The solid form of Dipotassium phosphite is relatively stable at room temperature, but it can decompose upon heating, releasing phosphorus-containing gas.
Main Applications
Agricultural Field
Serves as a high-purity potassium-phosphorus fertilizer. Dipotassium phosphite supplements phosphorus and potassium for crops, which helps control shoot growth, strengthen healthy shoots, promote flower bud differentiation, enlarge fruits, improve quality and increase yields. The trivalent phosphorus in the product can induce plants to strengthen their cell walls, preventing and inhibiting diseases such as downy mildew and powdery mildew. In some overseas markets, it is registered as a fungicide, and its use must comply with local regulations.
Industrial Field
Acts as a chelating agent and fungicide in circulating water treatment. It can chelate calcium and magnesium ions, preventing scale formation and reducing corrosion. It is a viable alternative to organophosphorus water treatment agents, effectively lowering environmental impact. Additionally, it is used as an intermediate in pharmaceutical and fine chemical manufacturing.
Chemical Field
Participates in various organic synthesis reactions.
