Mono potassium phosphite

Mono potassium phosphite is an important chemical product with wide applications in agriculture and industrial water treatment. Its core parameters are shown in the table below:

Items

Details

Chinese Name/Alias

mono potassium phosphite, mono potassium phosphite (crystal)

English Name

mono potassium phosphite / Monopotassium phosphite

Chemical Formula/Molecular Weight

KH₂PO₃, 120.09

CAS/EINECS Number

CAS: 13977-65-6; EINECS: 604-162-9

Physicochemical Properties: It is a white crystal, easy to deliquesce, extremely soluble in water, and insoluble in ethanol; the pH value of 10% aqueous solution is about 4.5; it is stable at room temperature, and will release phosphorus-containing gas when decomposed by heating.

Application and Compatibility Suggestions: In agriculture, it can be applied by foliar spraying, root irrigation/drenching; mixing with strong alkaline preparations should be avoided, and the concentration and frequency require professional guidance. For industrial water treatment, the dosage and dosing point should be optimized according to water quality, and the system compatibility evaluation should be well done.

Safety and Storage: It is severely irritating to the eyes (GHS H319); protective equipment should be worn during operation and ventilation should be maintained. It should be sealed and stored in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place, away from strong oxidants, acids, alkalis and high temperatures. During transportation, avoid exposure to sunlight and rain, do not transport with food and feed, and comply with local regulations and the latest SDS.

Reminder for Easily Confused Products: Do not confuse it with potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KH₂PO₄, CAS: 7778-77-0). The former is a phosphite with +3 valence phosphorus, and the latter is an orthophosphate with +5 valence phosphorus. They have different properties and uses and cannot be replaced by each other.
